Our November 2013 Cost of Living

costa rica cost of living

We had another good month in November, coming well below our $2,000/month target. The only category that was higher than normal was “Meals Out” but this was largely because we celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary in November. We spent a fun day in San Jose and had both lunch and dinner out. In November, we …

Our October 2013 Cost of Living

costa rica cost of living

We had a great month in October, coming in significantly below our $2,000 monthly budget. Just about everything was in line with or below our averages. A low month like October makes up for those months we spend more than our budget. We spent more in groceries for some reason. Looking back, we didn’t have a …

Our September 2013 Cost of Living

September was just about on track. As you can see, we came pretty close to meeting our $2,000 monthly budget. There were a few expenses, however, that we want to point out. First, you’ll see that we show $98.07 in non-reimbursable expenses for our trip to Las Vegas with International Living. While we did buy …

Revised April 3, 2015 Many people have asked us about our rent/phone/utilities category and how it breaks down. Our August 2013 Cost of Living

costa rica cost of living

August was pretty much on target, as our living expenses were  $1976.24. Though we still had family visiting for the first week of August, we stayed pretty close to home and they chipped in with meals and even a tank of gas. But we did spend a bit more on “meals out” than during more …

Our July 2013 Cost of Living
